    Mirs,

Thank you for the posting. Nadiene will be sending more pictures to you when she goes home in a couple of days.

You should have been on the group picture of us kindergarten classmates and elementary classmates.

I hope Nads or who ever is near you have brought a copy of the Panay News. We were featured by the said paper on their July 10, issue with pictures and list of all those who attended. Officially from the list there were 28 girls and 26 boys who attended the occassion. It was really a great experience.

I have finally recovered from my Blitzkrieg Philippine visit that was further reduced to 4 days (from the original planned 5 days) courtesy of US Airways. My US Airways flight from Las Vegas to LA was delayed, arriving at 10:13 PM  on July 3rd - PAL had already left at 10:10 PM! I did not get to leave LA until July 4th, arriving in the Philippines July 6th.  Compounding my problems was a bout of gastroenteritis/traveler's diarrhea that started in LA. I mainly had liquids/fluids  on the flight from LA to Manila and then on to Iloilo, to keep from getting dehydrated.  Another challenge - and warning to fellow travelers : upon reaching the new Iloilo airport I was impressed by the infrastructure. In fact even the restrooms were nice. However, there were no amenities - no tissue paper, toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap! For somebody with traveler's diarrhea that was definitely NOT a good thing. Luckily -  ESP perhaps? - I carried extra tissue in my bag and that definitely saved the day!  So anybody traveling - carry some tissues and towelettes always - they do come in handy!  Charito and Becky also saved me from further illness by sharing their medication stash - thanks again, Charz for the Cipro and Becky for the Imodium. My first aid kit will be more complete next time.  We had a very well attended get together at the Breakthrough Sunday July 8 despite the rain/storm  -- we all had a lot of fun. Becky,Gastby and I  had brought some pasalubong for classmates which was raffled off -- the only complaint ( from a guy of course) was that most of the items were intended for the ladies - Victoria's secret cologne, lotion, Revlon lipstick, etc.  So classmates, when you visit the Philippines, make sure you bring items for the guys, too! Special request? VIAGRA, of course!

I do have  copies of the two local newspapers that featured the reunion at Breakthrough and will bring this to New York in August for Miriam to hopefully upload on to our website. I also have additional pictures taken at Breakthrough that I will be e-mailing to Miriam soon.  Balikbayan classmates who attended include: Nadiene, Gatsby, Becky C., Charito, Jane, Lina Agreda, Dean Cuenca, Santi Cabangbang-Cuenca and myself.  Everybody had a great time! Thank you again Tess Octavio for your efficient text messaging and Jeremy who served as emcee/entertainer. I had no idea you had stand up comedy talents!   Thank you, too, to our fearless and capable driver, Gatsby, who bravely negotiated Iloilo traffic and managed to find the way to Breakthrough!

There were 54 attendees in all which I believe is a record attendance. We enjoyed a  trip down memory lane thanks to a vocal performance by  Tim B, Marlon Q and Chito H.  Female representation was provided by Esther Siason and Mercy Yanson  who later on joined in the singing.

Glad everybody had so much fun. Trust foreign based klasmits are back home all in one piece, none worse for usual wear and tear of air travel. I, for one, is getting back to my "very laborious" Iloilo routine - biking, gym, badminton, coffee shops. Hehehe...

Irms, it is always a headache when you had tight flight schedules. Somewhere down the line something will run amiss. Been through a lot of these during my Asia-Pacific work stint. Always running after planes, delays, weather problems, flight connections missed, etc. Now, I had learned to insert buffer time on travel itinerary.

You're right.... Actually there was a 2-hour interval between the scheduled US Airways arrival in LA and the PAL departure, but the flight from Las Vegas was delayed  reportedly by repairs that had to be done on the plane -- so instead of getting to LA at 8 PM (as scheduled) it did not get there until 10:13 PM. Since it was beyond my control, I tried to not get stressed out about it! Plus, I DID want them to do whatever repairs were necessary!

Did Emily stay behind in California? Good luck to her as she takes her licensing exams. Ano na lang ang himu-on mo sa imo double allowance?

Are you planning to be back in the U.S. December 2007? Remember we have a mini-reunion in New York early December. Dean and Santi will be attending.

Emily is back here in Iloilo reviewing for her NCLEX. We might be able to make it there for the Dec mini-reunion. Tapos naman na guro review ni Emily by that time.

Hahaha.. Pagbalik ko da, ti tapos na maliligayang araw ko eh. Everybody knows when you're there, you will have to work. Maayo lang kung parehas sang una ang makuha ko nga work, para libot libot naman ko US kag Asia-Pacific kag mag hang-out di sa Pilipinas. Eh, kung the usual 8-5 desk work, ti I'll be stuck there just like the others.

Baw Luis, maayo gid ang imo nga relaxed life in Iloilo ba. Cool [H] Well, as you said, malapit na matapos ang imo nga maliligayang araw. Wink [;)] Tapos na ang imo super extended bakasyon and you will be a balikUS and not a balikbayan anymore. Ah, ti maayo naman ina kag dire ka naman malibot sa US, attending all the mini reunions.

Irms, the pictures taken by Joel during the get together at Marina are already posted. There were several pictures not clear enough to be posted but damu man ang nami nga kuha and klasmits can enjoy looking at the pictures and see other classmates who may have attended the CPUHS1972+ get together for the first time. Ay sus, ang group picture pa ang medyo indi gid clear but it is great nga may-ara sang group picture nga nakuha kay kadamu gid sa inyo.
